The Boxer Berlinetta (BB) was Ferrari's first 12-cylinder mid-engine car. It first came out in 1971 as a 365 GT4 BB; the more powerful 512 BB followed in 1976, staying in production until the mid-1980s. The term "Boxer" refers to the engine, which has two banks of horizontally-opposed cylinders -- making it a flat-12 rather than a V12.
