Corona Chapel

Canterbury cathedral

At the far eastern end of the cathedral is the Corona chapel which is a circular and tower-like structure and part of the redevelopment of the late 1100s. It formed part of the shrine to Thomas Becket and, rather gruesomely, probably held Becket’s own crown (or corona) – the top of his head which was cut off in the sword attack that killed him.

Well I suppose he wasn't using it any longer :0)
Clever use of HDR keeping the colours in the windows.

A beautiful Chapel, great details and light. I think the HDR for this is perfect. Interesting, yes, gruesome information about poor Thomas. V
