Great image Jane and it has to be fun on a hot day.
Growing up on the lower east side of Manhattan all I remember is a open Fire Hydrant and a garbage can lid that we took turns to spray the water up .
Of course it would not be long some one comes by and shuts it down, by then we were all cooled off.
Great image and a memory revival for me.
