While hiking through the park, I was surprised to see a hawk silhouette on the deck railing of a home inhabited by a park employee. That single home
is surrounded by nothing but open space and overlooks a hillside field. As I moved closer, the silhouette turned out to be an adult Red-tail,
scanning the field below. I would be perfectly content to have a Red-tailed Hawk take over the deck railing of my home.
