In fact there are only 26 steps,down a very steep descent.But,after the recent rains,they lead you into a false sense of security,ie you're down the worst of the drop,aren't you,that's why the steps are there,isn't it?There should be at least 39 steps as the remainder of the drop to the stream and old mill,is very slippy and really quite dangerous.
