Not a particularly nice place. The monsoon rains were pouring through the dump, filtered by every kind of waste, then running in a stream across a muddy road into a ditch by a slum.
I read an article which said that incidences of leukemia are very high for people who live by the dump.
A couple of men ejected me (nicely) from the dump fairly quickly, but soon after that a couple of guys that I wasn't at all comfortable with attached themselves to me - so (spurred on by muttered warnings from local slum kids) I left sooner than I would have liked.
