New Jersey Beach Sand

Belmar, NJ USA

Close up shows the fine texture of the sand. There is one section at the most southern tip of New Jersey called Diamond Beach, where the coarser pebbles and glass shards (sea glass) are glistening like diamonds. They have to truck in sand from the southern beaches to fill in the eroded areas of the northern shores. That's why you find the special sand on northern beaches.

A very interesting image Gine. The sea glass certainly does appear as diamonds. Quite unique. V
