This heron was sitting on a floating log in a small stream in the Arboretum in Ottawa. The log kept moving back and forth as the water moved, and therefore so did the heron, but I did manage to get a few photos. The poor thing has a damaged right foot, and from the look of it, the injury occured a long while back. I would think it makes landing difficult for him, but he seemed quite steady on the log.
