Folsom is an almost-ghost-town dating to 1888. Back then it was a thriving village. But, a disastrous flood washed away most of the town in 1908. The Folsom Hotel started out as a mercantile store in 1888, but was converted into a hotel in 1910. A short distance away is where artifacts from "Folson Man" were unearthed in the early 1900s; included were 23 ancient Bison skeletons and 19 projectile points.
