Sutherland Clinic

The Sutherland Clinic was the first hospital in the small Mississippi town where I grew up. It was located on the top (4th) floor of what is still the tallest building in town. A furniture store now occupies the ground floor, but the upper floors remain today as they were when the clinic closed. Although this photo was taken during the 1980s, the clinic still looks essentially the same today.

It looks like a scene from Lost or CSI. I love the labelling in the doors, my very first job was engraving these type of signs, using a machine that would look right at home here. It really evokes an atmosphere, although the scene itself is rendered a lot brighter than the musty damp smells of my imagination. Regards, -Najinsky
