Polyphemus moth

I saw this giant silk moth yesterday and took a picture with my iPhone. The male had a more feathery antennae but flew away before I got a good shot. It was about 5 inches across.

Love the moth, love the shot...and, you've got to appreciate the iphone camera - makes it easier to always have your camera with you! You may already know this, but the males more feathery antenna enables it to track the pheromones released by the female over great distances.
