Killdeer chicks getting under their mom. The little killdeer chicks would run around on their own for awhile until their mom would approach one and sit on the ground.
That chick woul tap at her chest, she would lift up a little and the chick would go under her. The mother bird would use a specific call to get the other chicks to come
and the process would be repeated. Chick approaches from in front of her chest, taps her, she lifts up and they climb under. She seemed to acknowledge each chick
before getting up to make room for them.
