Diamonds on the bottom of my shoe - It can only happen at Sunset Beach in Cape May, New Jersey. Besides having unusually beautiful sunsets over open water (not normally visible on the East Coast), Sunset Beach has three things: the remains of the concrete ship "Atlantus", Cape May Diamonds, and the summer evening Flag Ceremony. We have brought bags of "Cape May diamonds" home and filled our rock tumbler with them to create polished stones that look like diamonds. The fun ended as soon as the tumbler gave up the ghost - ususaly within a day. We are still looking for the real thing. There are shops right at the beach where you can buy polished and shaped stones that look like the real thing. A never ending joy for children and the young at heart.
