further west along the North Vancouver shores, this pair of peaks are known to native peoples as the Twin Sisters, but were subsequently named The Lions by the descendants of European colonists...apparently they are made of basalt, and suspected to be the remains of an ancient volcano...along the edge of the harbour are boat houses clearly owned by wealthy Vancouverites, their prize crafts hidden away from both prying eyes, and coastal storms
