We saw a handful of these on the trail that day. It had rained the night before, then had a brief rain shower when we parked, before heading to the falls, which we waited out in our car. Then about 1/2-way up the higher portion that we hiked the rain started again. We kept going and finally decided to head back down when the "sound" of the rain hitting the upper canopy of trees we were walking beneath increased. Luckily, the trees kept the majority of rain from hitting us and we weren't drenched after hiking the 2-hours back down to the car.
