Gold and Silver Leaf

Chiang Mai

On either side of the entry to this wat, was a statue. Although the gold and silver leaf were getting somewhat mixed up, one side was slowly being plastered with gold leaf, the right hand side figure was being decorated with silver. I contributed a thin layer (little finger, top). 19 baht was the price quoted. And next to the payment coffer was a pile of one-baht change, as clearly 20 baht denomination was the most likely to be carried. I suspect mostly the change was not taken, effectively making the cost of offering a sliver of a fine gold or solver leaf to add to the statue, 20 baht. A bargain!
