Another old design I like better than new. Those old things (cars, bikes, and other) methinks, are much prettier and has a sort of sole.

A friend of mine once told me that the sea is quite overwhelming for him because it means the end of all paths. I answered that for me the sea is the widest path, that can go everywhere. Differents views for different people: him, born in the inland, and me, born in the coast.
This ship is a true beauty, and for sure, under full sail it would be all an spectacle.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. This ship is an exact replica of the original Endeavour the Captain Cook was on when he discovered Australia. The trip around Australia was manned by volunteers who paid for the privledge to sail onboard for specific legs of the voyage. It visited 15 ports around Australia and at each port was open for guided tours for a number of days. I made a trip to this port just to see this ship. I was a bit disappointed it did not sail out under full sail, that would have been a sight! Cheers Dennis

1 year!!What a long time to spend. I wonder what kinds of people can take a year off, much less build a boat like this. Beauty of a photo, Dennis.

I would love to see this with all it's sails out. Wow, what a sight it would be. I love the bright colors used to trim the ship, very pretty. It is amazing to look out over a large body of water and I can understand why they thought the horizon was the edge of the world. Just think how scary it must have been for those who found out it wasn't.

I like this ship from another era. Just musing, with the colors so close, I wonder if that sharp horizon were blurred to merge the sea and the sky, if the boat would look more like a ghost ship. It might not work, but maybe worth a try. --Stefan
