A toddlers' playground is being built here on LaGuardia Place's city park strip in close proximity to NYU's housing complex at Washington Square Village,
the NYU Main Library and Administration Building, and the NYU Student Center.
This playground will be exposed to a very heavy trafficked area with pedestrian and street traffic putting the children's safety and privacy in jeopardy.
This appears to be entirely unnecessary as a off-the-street children's playground is available a block away near by Mercer Street, if the NYU2031 plan to destroy that playground is not approved.
One wonders, why NYU's School of Education and Law School does not look into the advisability of this land use?
It raises a much larger question about what kind of world NYU and NYC will provide for future generations through their higher education programs and governing law makers.
