Least Tern- Courtship Feeding

Martin Luther King Shoreline, Oakland, CA

The female resting on the rock has accepted yet another small fish from
her mate (courtier?) above. While he hunted the outgoing tide for more offerings and
chased away rivals, she just waited for more...for at least five feedings.
