UP 844 draws a crowd at the former Rock Island depot in Chickasha, OK on May 3rd, 2012. While most of the crowd has turned out to see the 1944 vintage 4-8-4, the main waiting room of the depot is hosting a celebration of the centennial of the depot. Located on the Rock Island's north-south mainline, the depot hosted both mainline passenger trains as well as the locals that operated over branch lines to Mangum and Lindsay.
