once the site of a native indian village, in the 19th C a logging camp was established here in what then became known as Jerry's Cove...Vancouver's first golf course was subsequently at this seaside location, and then in the 1930s a seaplane base took over...since the 1970s it has become a city park, with a beach, meadows, a small forest, and a large marshy pond, and is largely left to revert to something like it's natural state
