Frost Burnt

West Virginia

After a month of above normal temperatures, we returned to winter. Highs yesterday were only in the thirties and lows at night have been well below freezing. No apples this year.

Oh no! Fortunately, we are close to Lake Ontario and the lake has moderated the temperatures in the family orchard. Beautiful photo and b&w protrays the sadness of losing the crop this year.

Yes, everyone's fears came true this week. I feel sorry for those who own orchards in the northeast. Nice work in B&W, it certainly conveys the life and death mood. V

How peculiar this weather is across the globe. These apple blossoms look so delicate and dainty in mono, but sad to know that the weather has been so harsh on the apples this year. VV
