This may be a new transiet bird working its way north. It sat in perfect light and was completely unphased as a kite surfer rigged himself up. The big purple sail was flapping freely but the Owl seemed curious not fidgity or rattled. The light was great and so I was able to get this shot and the next one which shows a vertical purple marking on the nape. Perhaps that mark will tell about what this bird has been up to this winter.
