I started working on the last major repair to the Swift today. I had great hopes of getting it done today. Unfortunately, that is not the way it worked out. I needed to replace some anchor nuts in the left gear box. I took everything apart and drilled out the old ones. While putting in the new ones, it became clear that the rivets I was using did not have a long enough grip length. I found myself in a little of a tizzy because at first I couldn't find them at the usual suppliers. Fortunately, a Google search turned up a potential source of the proper length rivets. It was after quitting time, so there was nobody to answer the phone at the supplier. I am going to call him first thing in the morning and hope he has them in stock.

On a side note, there is nothing that makes me more nervous than having the airplane on jacks. One little boo boo and you have a hole in the wing.

All good ideas. I think I will stick to the design with eight big ass anchor nuts.
