Navestock Slades ; The motte ditch.

Navestock, Essex, England view map

Now almost completely filled in,but still wet for most of it's circumference.The motte,currently about 8ft. high above the moat's surface,is on the lhs of the image.

I'd love to know what this old house looks like! My aunt lives nearby and I've had a look around here once or twice. Weird to think a whole farm, complete with manor house, cottages, gardens and outbuildings used to be here :) Until it was bombed, of course...
