Cor, how glad was I to sit near Lise on the boat trip to Luang Prabang the next day. Turns out it was her birthday. We swifly rustled up birthday dinner with random but nice looking people from the boat and some lone travellers I picked up in my guest house. here's the birthday girl flanked by her older but not necessarily wiser friends and future travel buddies.
