When in Hong Kong, Kennedy Town is the place to go: especially weird new Chinese hotels that look like they let Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen loose on the decor with stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap rooms.
The room may be a box, but who cares if you're on Floor 28 and have a bay window overlooking Central? Opening the curtains after a very very late arrival was like Christmas morning.
Thankfully, Laurence must have gotten a bit tired by the time he got to the bedrooms. But the lobby - oh whoa! Black chandeliers, epilepsy-induczing crazy mosaic flooring, fake Louis XIV furniture... the Chinese tourists loved it.
