To the left is Jordan, to the right,Israel. In between runs the lower Jordan River, on its way from the Sea of Galilee to the Dead Sea. This the spot where the Children of Israel crossed the Jordan River and where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. The site was recently opened for tourists.
