Gertz Lake ready for some spring fishing . . .

I tested two cameras today. I shot the same scene with two cameras today; using a tripod and shooting within minutes of each other. I have a D90 and a D40 I always get richer and more vivid colors with the older and less expensive D40 when I do a comparison between the two cameras. It drives me crazy. I simply cannot get the vivid colors I'm looking for with the D90. Any ideas out there?

I have a D40 but I still get the best zoom, width and true colors from my darling little Canon Powershot G5. Looks good for fishing.
