This flower amazes me. It is difficult to photograph as the vibrant red seems to flow across edges. The flower is solid, ripply, yet looks velvety, with what seems to be a fleshy body covered with soft 'spikes'. I've never actually dared dismember one, so I can't say what their texture is, exactly; they are in gardens and pots around wats and peoples' shops and homes.
