Phantom FGR.2 XT899

Wildenrath

RAFG Wildenrath had an ideal westwind landing site, from where you could see aircraft coming from miles away. 19 and 92 squadron were based here, both flying the Phantom FGR.2 until the base was closed. Here, 19sqdn Phantom XT899/K is seen landing and pictured from that terrific spot. XT899, built in 1968, was retired in 1991 and went to the Czech aviation museum in Kbely, wher it still is present (in a not too good condition).
