Idroscalo di Ostia

Tor San Michele, was part of the costal defensive system realized by Pope Pio IV and Pio V in order to guarantee the safety of navigation in the area. The Tower, designed by Michelangelo, was finished under the direction of Giovanni Lippi who substituted Michelangelo after its death. The tower has octagonal plant, encircled by a ditch, has a height of 18 meters.
In the 70's, a hundred meters far from this place, the Italian writer Pier Paolo Pasolini was killed.

Davvero suggestiva, toni molto belli, ringrazio per la descrizione storica dell'edificio, che non conoscevo, e per aver ricordato Pasolini.
