Three images: My first ever shots of an Ermine (Weasel). A few of us were out shooting Snowshoe Hares and various birds when all of a sudden this Ermine made an appearance. It was looking for supper and was in hot pursuit of a Red Squirrel. Up and down and through the trees they went, almost impossible to get any shots. I was lucky to land a few shots though and I was pleased to add them to my collection as "lifers". I think supper was postponed as the Ermine took off without a trophy. The Ermine didn't bother with the Snowshoe Hare that kept on feeding nearby.
Top image: My best shot, with the Ermine taking a very brief pause whilst ascending a tree with the Squirrel just above it.
My first in focus shot; however, part of the tail was lost behind the snow.
The lost was found. This time I only got the tail.
