"Carroll Shelby created a legend by slipping a small-block Ford V-8 into the AC Ace. Relatively light with an aluminum body and fully-independent suspension, the Ace easily accommodated Ford's light new engine. At first, the engines displaced 260 [cubic inches] but quickly grew to 289 [cubic inches]. Out of the box, they were incredibly fast and immediate race winners. The early Cobras and their later 427 cid brethren are among the most copied of any cars. This is CSX2020, a very early car. It was awarded First Place in the popular vote at the SAAC-18." -- Simeone Automotive Museum
