Theatre Light

Idaho

Taken at home this evening, I like the fact that the light's position allows you to capture the carpet texture when viewed from a very shallow camera angle. {I'll take any suggestions about how to reduce the glare from the light itself, though I know that neutral-density filter is probably a good way. In Photoshop, I didn't get the results I wanted on that point.)

THIS! - is what HDR is all about, for real!

Tripod, Only two shots needed One with this exposure, another 2 stops faster (shutter speed) (but, it would NOT hurt to shoot 4 total frames... 1 FULL stop (shutter speed) apart (down only) This is overkill, but it is cheap!

You would want 4 shots as follows.

F14/16 - 24mm - ISO100

Frame1 - 30sec
Frame2 - 15sec
Frame3 - 6sec
Frame4 - 3sec

Note the change in ISO

You can also try an experiment, different effect but hey!

F8 - 24mm - ISO100

Frame1 - 15sec
Frame2 - 6sec
Frame3 - 3sec
Frame4 - 1sec

Bring them into Photo_____ and do the HDR processing on the 4 images. It should remove the glare from the light, and the F8 shot will provide a different "star" effect (pressuming it was not added in post) but it will also affect the "glow" part of the glare making it a little softer.

Now, Keep in mind, these are just suggestions, It would be something I might try, Your results may vary, and therefore, like microwave directions, you may need to make adjustments after seeing the results.
