This is the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin.
It extends for almost a city block and is composed of hundreds of concrete blocks, all of different heights.
I was lucky (a strange word in this historical context) to be there early in the day,
when the light was low on the horizon, creating these light and shadow patterns.
You can walk along the 'avenues' between the blocks which are in deep shadow, but if you look upwards you can see daylight, like this:
