Along with my recent studio work I’ve also been taking a lot of photos at a local metal salvage yard. I’ve been especially interested lately in shooting fire images. I find fire a very dramatic and compelling element perfect for making exciting pictures. The salvage yard is a great place to find lots of opportunities to take fire photos. There is a huge smelter there (Furnace for melting metal) and lots of metal cutting with torches and sometimes bonfires for getting rid of other materials besides metal. It is an endlessly fascinating place for a photographer. Anyway, Ive been having a great time shooting fire there, and the next few images I’m posting are taken from this "fire" series. Burn baby burn.
