Australian Raven

Around noon she has her call:
High, far carrying series of notes
‘aaaa…’ with a strangled, drawn out finish.
Then she waggles into the driveway
keeping an eye on me all the time,
reading the newspaper on the veranda.
Then she picks up some pieces of bread
and waggles to water baths
dips her bread into the water and eats them then.
She finish her meal with a series of notes
‘aaaa…’ with a strangled, drawn out finish,
high up on the wire pole.
