Snowy Owl

This is an un-cropped image of a wild Snowy Owl. I actually had to back up several feet to get him (her) to fit in the frame. We had a nice time together and I actually thanked him (and the Creator) for the experience!

I was probably about 15 feet away from this exquisite bird, and shot 360 degrees all around. He was totally calm and allowed me to work with great finesse.

A great high key shot and interesting encounter, those eyes follow you.

OUtstanding shot and you were privileged as we are to share these fine shots, I said something similar to Terry. We do not have such exotic birds in the uK accessible to our cameras ... not in the wild at any rate. Andrea

700mm at 1/20th second just amazes me!!!! Congratulations on a spectacular shot.

Outstanding shot, Jim. It is indeed wonderful how tolerant these
beauties can be. Maybe they understand that they are really the
ones controlling the situation.

Glad you went up again, Jim! With my 400 in for repairs at Canon, I have been
putting off going up. Maybe I'll venture forth and just make do with my 70-200 and +1.4x
This is a really beauty of a shot! Fabulous detail. It was so nice that it was so still
for you to be able to shoot at that speed, f-stop, and ISO!
