MOUNTAINS

SPENT AN HOUR AT MY FRIEND'S HOUSE. THIS IS WHAT I CAME HOME WITH. NEEDS MORE WORK YET.
in response to David H's question here is a photo taken a long time ago of the scene where I was today. Today you could see the snow on the tops of the mountains unlike in the photo but they are the same mountains.

Sony DSLR-A550
1/80s f/4.0 at 24.0mm iso12800 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Looking good, Margot.
Nothing quite like snow capped
mountains to inspire.

The photograph is beautiful, but the painting surpasses it even if there is is still work to be done on it.

I really love how you're composing these images Margot! Super still life!
The clouds in your painting remind me of an NC Wyeth work of art! :)

A great start, looks like a fun project.

Lovely indeed. Mountains that are snow capped and rising beneath swirling clouds perhaps roiling in the heavens. Colors are pretty, soft and limited, nice contrast to the red paint jar and the paper ink spread.

Is this inspired by a nearby view? I know you Canadians specialise in high, snow covered mountains. :o) In any event it looks like a nice start.

Looks like the start of something good.
