Wonderful photo of the past and still present.
Waiting for some sunny days to shoot my Dad's old Nikon 35mm camera.

One of my favorite cameras of the past was the Minolta XD-11, but, honestly I don't miss film. A beautiful nostalgic shot, Tom.

The good old day......may the 35mm RIP :-) !!!!

I'm still using my Minolta X-700. I bought some Tmax right before the news about Kodak. From what I've read, their film department is still profitable and they will probably sell it off. Beautiful camera and lens and I can't wait to see the photos too. Great photo. V.
Colin Storey23-Jan-2012 21:09
Fantastic shot of the old camera, great topical image. v

When I first became seriously interested in photography I bought several Kodak photography guides. They were excellent. So sad to see the demise of such a great and helpful company. I can't use my Nikkormats any more because they don't have diopter adjustments on the viewfinder, but once I tried digital there really was no going back.
Bill Miller23-Jan-2012 19:43
That is a proper camera, mechanical, metal and glass !
Guest 23-Jan-2012 19:05
I have a Minolta camera too, but never would have thought of stocking up. Here's a company's history for you...where it failed and went wrong. You have a good image here for the cover of that tell-all book.

Wonderful image Tom...It is indeed sad news...BV
Tom Munson23-Jan-2012 16:16
They were the first with digital and let it get away. Nice shot, Tom

Great shot of your old trusted Minolta and a nice tribute to an era gone by. As late as 1976 Kodak had 90% market share in film sales and 85% of camera sales in the U.S. "V"

Kodak is perhaps the most iconic of all photography companies...sad news indeed..V

I was a user of film since 1946(cut film and film packs) but I am thrilled with the capabilities of digital processing. Nice DIGITAL photo here.

I still have my old Nikon F4 and lenses, which I was gonna throw in the garbage soon, haven't used it in years and probably never will in the future! I guess there are other Co that make films, although the old Kodachrome 64 sure was nice !
