Sasha came home with me yesterday, from a German Shepherd Dog rescue several hours west of Ottawa. She is a 4 year old long-haired (coated) German Shepherd and this is the name she came with, uncannily similar to that of my late Tasha!! Her story, as far as I know it, is that she was rescued from a situation in Missouri where she, and many other dogs, were kept chained all day, 24/7, for years. She was then sent up to the shepherd rescue here to see if a home could be found for her. I doubt she'd been mis-treated, just ignored, because she is very people friendly, fine with my cats, and when I went to see her, she was happily playing and living with many other dogs. She is smaller than my greatly-missed Tasha, and her colouring is more red and black rather than black and tan. She is a lovely girl and once she gets over the shock of being moved, yet again, she will be absolutely fine. It is a delight to have her!!!
