ANOTHER TRY

SINCE MOVING BACK INTO OUR OLD HOME I HAVE NOT FOUND MY OLD PAINTINGS AND MOST OF MY ACRYLIC PAINTS.
I HAVE A FRIEND WHOM I USED TO PAINT WITH AND SHE WANTED TO GET BACK TO TRYING IT AGIAN.
THE SNOW HAS KEPT US APART. WITH THE LIMITED BUNCH OF COLORS I FOUND (WHICH HAVEN'T DRIED UP) I CHOSE THIS ONE TO DO IN ABSTRACT.
WELL I GUESS I AM MORE OF A DETAIL PERSON THAN I THOUGHT. I HAVE SOME CORRECTIONS TO DO ON THIS AND
REALIZE WHAT I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER BUT IT IS WHAT IT IS AND I AM HAVING FUN.
JUST LIKE MY CAMERA. I DON'T REALLY WANT TO FOLLOW RULES I JUST LIKE TO DO IT. T
THE ONLY REASON THIS ONE PLEASES ME SO FAR IS THAT I CAN SEE DEPTH. SOME OF MY OLDER ONES ARE FLAT.

Sony DSLR-A550
1/13s f/4.0 at 24.0mm iso1600 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

So that's what's been keeping you busy these days. I'm not talented enough to paint or even to draw. I imagine that spending time with photography is helping to train your eye, so maybe that's what's helping you create depth now.

I think it's great that you back to painting. You must document your finished works as they are done so that we can all enjoy them.

It is better to be creative than follow the rules.
Looks like beautiful work and have fun doing it.

Now this is nice... I do not like to paint, because I do not like anything that I will have to clean up. But I admire to the nth degree those who do paint. Your tree trunks looks lovely with the green foliage and various colors. As for rules ...whose rules? Best to make your own. Keep at it Picasso!

What a fun project. My granddaugher wants me to do a field of wildflowers for her but I haven't painted in years. This is an excellent work of art, Margot.

Well done Margot. They defintley show depth! I like the pastel coloured one on the right. The others are more colourful & detailed. Thanks for sharing them!!
