The NGC 2264 region contains two objects known as the Cone Nebula and Christmas Tree Nebula.
NGC 2264 lies 2600 - 2700 light years distant and consists of ionized hydrogen gas (the red color)
and cool gas and dust (dark areas). The green streaks near top and bottom are artifacts,
I had to do a meridian flip and the resulting misalignment of the image sequences
is visible as these streaks. I just didn't feel like cropping.
