In parts of Australia we have a problem with the European Wasp. I have been told that the winters are not cold enough to control the numbers. This is the biggest wasp nest I have ever seen. It was several metres across and the photograph only shows a section of it. Just imagine if you accidentally stumbled into it. Ouch! Another thing I have noticed when I have photographed wasp nests the light and the photographs have a very curious sepia look to them. I wonder if the wasps select areas where the light is attractive to them.
