Christmas Amaryllis

West Virginia

Mamiya RB67 with Polaback. Fujifilm FP3000B.

For the December Challenge, Book Titles.

The book is "Stalking the Wild Asparagus" by Euell Gibbons.

The amaryllis is poisonous and I doubt this is going to bloom by Christmas. :) It was however a very nice and appreciated gift and will have blooms at some point in time. Maybe when I need them most and that is the magic of Christmas.

Excellent shot. I might not have guessed what it was if you didn't tell! V++

It will bloom when it's ready, in the meantime it is good to watch it grow.

I have these growing in the garden - beautiful flowers, but I don't think your one here will flower in 2 - 3 days time...
I didn't know they were poisonous

I think the plant would need some sun, I guess! She will give you all her beauty! v.

This will add a beautiful splash of colour in late January. And that's definitely something to look forward to.

Good idea for the book title! I planted my amaryllis in the back garden and now it has divided in to 4 plants. Blooms for several months in late spring in our climate. I hope yours will cheer you up in the late winter when it is bleak outside. V

The promise of growth is very well portrayed here with the strong looking shoots contrasting with the dark areas around them. V.
