Between 1977 and 1992, the 48th TFW flew with the mighty General-Dynamics F-111F from RAF Lakenheath. The F-111's participated in the raid on Libya (April 1986) and Operation Desert Storm (1991), before being replaced by F-15's in 1992. Here, 494TFS F-111F 74-0184/LN is pictured at Twente, 1987. This F-111 is stored at the AMARG since 1996.
