Australian Aboriginal Art..

This art is the work of Kim Peckham

and digitally enhanced by photography.

Bilargun and Daroo..
When the old people sat around their campfires, they would tell the dreamtime story of the platypus.
Bilargun the water rat was out hunting and saw Daroo the duck and wanted her as his wife.
He silently swam underneath the water and grabbed her legs and took her back to the hole in the bank
which was his home. There he made her very comfortable and brought her food every day. They were very happy. Bilargun told Daroo that if she was ever in danger to hit her tail on the water as a warning signal.
After some time Daroo the duck had some babies and do you know they had Daroo the ducks bill and webbed feet and Bilargun the water rats for coat and flat tail.
To this day the babies' ancestors can still be seen in the creeks and rivers using the same warning signal and are now called the platypus..

Wonderful capture! Great colors and love the design. Again, traditional but yet not quite. What lens do you use for these with your D700? V.
