Rigel or Beta Ori

Cootamundra, NSW

Rigel or Beta Ori is a multiple star system, the primary star shines at a magnitude of 0.20. It is at a distance of around 770 light years and is slightly variable (V) 0.17 - 0.22.

Takahashi Sky 90/EM-200 combination with the ST-8300C, high cloud was present during the imaging run as can be seen with the distinct halo surrounding the star.
