Heilan Coo in Glen Tanar

On my way today to get the Christmas Tree - two things occurred to me after encountering this chap/chapess? 1) Getting the Christmas Tree use to to be a family event, now I am just despatched to get it - I suppose they have grown up and can't be asked to get out of bed!
2) When you can't see the eyes, how expressionless a creature or person is. I really like the Highland Coos but they look so inanimate. This one spent ten minutes trying to ignore me, facing away. Next time I am getting in the field, then I expect I might see some action!!!

Family members who cannot be bothered with the collecting of trees and beasts which cannot be bothered with the chasing of visitors. Apathy and indolence is the modern disease.

I wonder that they can see anything at all with that fringe!! Maybe it's enough for them just to see the ground six inches in front of them. Great shot.

That fabulous red coat looks great against the snow - and I dare it say it was needed in the storms.
